By plane ... you’d be traveling from Thailand's capital Bangkok. All international airlines offer regular flights to 'Don Muang Airport' ( 25 km to Bangkok's center). Here you take another flight operated by 'Bangkok Airways' and within 60 minutes, you'll be on Koh Samui. (Your travel agency may reserve seats and / or order tickets for this local flight.)

By land - you'll be taking the train from Bangkok to the city of Surathani (please reserve the night train 3-4 days before traveling). In Surathani you'll be taken to the ferry-pier by bus. There are many ferries daily (speedboat or car ferry) connecting Surathani with the island of Samui. Arriving either in the old port of Nathon or the newer ferry port, you'll just take a local taxi to the hotel.
