Koh Samui is part of an island group that used to be called Muu Koh Damui, though you rarely hear that termdays. Thailand's third-largest island at 247 sq km, it's surrounded by 80 smaller islands. Six of these, Phang-Ngan, Ta Loy, Tao, Taen, Ma Koh and Ta Pao, are inhabited as well
