"Even the sea seems to be holding its breath"
Victor George Paddy, journalist
Whether translated as "Home on a beautiful cliff", Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam is a unique property by any account.
Its 16-acre spread is nestled delicately into the side of the cliff, surrounded by Coconut plantations. The resort is split into 42 accommodation choices, ranging form 9 Superior Rooms, 25 Deluxe and 6 Deluxe sala rooms, plus 2 Deluxe Suites.
All set on three cliffside levels - as well as 7 two-bedroom suites located by the beach in the Promenade garden. There are also 32 Luxury villas ranging from 2,500 square feet 2 bedrooms to 3,500 square feet 3 bedrooms, all with large private balconies and a choice of 5 private villa pools. All units have been designed to blend against the background and appear to cascade gently down the side of the headland
Beautifully decorated in traditional Thai style, each guestroom is spacious and breezy with its own private balcony. Each is also equipped with a personal bar, state of the art laser disk video, mini stereo and satellite television. Also standard in all rooms are fully-adjustable air-conditioning, an electronic safe and telephone with international direct dialing (IDD).
A magnificent wall of sliding glass doors leads to the balconies with a view unmatched anywhere on the island. Of the 40 guestrooms, six are Salas with 30-foot high Thai style rooftops. The two deluxe suites are built at the cliff's edge to take advantage of a view worth a thousand words.
Unique to the island is the Resort's signature pool, a large outdoor swimming pool that just drops off. A bar floats on the edge of the pool and provides guests with thirst quenching juices or tropical cocktails.
The east side of the island is a variety of several beach huts but the West side is an entirely separate world. Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam's ideal location at the southwest side of the island allows guests the chance to venture out beyond the dream-like setting of the little village by peaceful waters.
